Stage 3 at Ft. Benning

December 11, 2009

This is a mock run through stage 3 with a video camera. This was not for score. The stage started with a Remington/Magpul ACR on full auto with a suppressor. This was used on 3 target immediately engaged through the door. The shooter then transitioned to his rifle and engaged rifle targets in three different rooms. The rifle was the abandoned (on safe) and the pistol was used to finish up the stage.

During the match itself, I had one of the fastest times on the stage but I had a complete miss on one of the easiest targets in the entire match, a full sized IPSC target engaged with the rifle from about 5 yards! Just goes to show that you have to respect each and EVERY target and take nothing for granted.

There were a couple different ways that I saw people shoot the stage.  After the first room was engaged with the rifle, many people choose to engage the far left room and then the room where the rifle was abandoned last.  I engaged the room where the rifle was abandoned while moving down the hallway, that way I could simply dump the rifle while moving to the pistol targets.  Not a huge time saver but every little bit helps.

I actually shot it 6 seconds faster than you ….. I just happened have to have a complete miss …. on a full sized IPSC target at about 5 yards away. A very difficult shot.
