About Kelly Neal

Hi, I’m Kelly Neal.  When I am not prosecuting cases for the State of Arizona, I’ve spend my time as sponsored competitor in the practical shooting sports for almost ten years and during that time I’ve learned a lot about shooting, stage analysis and general competition tactics.

Competing with  and against guys like Rob Leatham, Bennie Cooley, Mike Voigt, Kurt Miller, Mike Darby, Daniel Horner, Bruce Piatt, Robbie Johnson and Jerry Miculek in matches all over the world has helped me with my own shooting and I’d like to share some of that insight on this blog. If I can do it, so can you!

Wow, I think I am going to beecome a crased fan and stalker… Dude, the blog site looks great.. I remember when we were 16-17 year olds at the Cactus Combat leage with me borrowing your dads 45. Even though competative shooting is not quite as much fun as chasing the ultimate game in Seligman, its awsome to see you excelling into the top positions as a pro shooter. Rmember, most of the guys you compete against don’t have a real job to contend with..

Thanks, but you still can’t spell! I too remember the good old days trying to use the Weaver stance and 230 grain ball to beat the new fangled .38 Super race guns. That did not work out so well but at least we had a good time.

Plus I’ve learned as much chasing the ultimate game (the ever elusive Prairie Dog) in Seligman as I ever learned at Cactus. But be warned my Grandpa’s .220 Swift still has some barrel left!

Mikey, I prefer “Justice Bringer” over Persecutor, it sounds more Beowolfey.

I like this sport. Period. Shooting Guns at targets under pressure is just about as good of a job as it gets. Hope to see you on T.V. or sports channel

Kell, your Leupold 1.5-5X VarX III – what reticle are you using ??

Mikey, I use nearly every reticle!

On my primary AR (A JP 18 in upper) I use a Mk IV 1.5-5X with the circle dot reticle from the CQ/T scope. On my backup AR (A POF 18 in), I use the same scope but with the SPR reticle.

My Leupold Vari-X III that I used at DPMS on my FAL has a traditional duplex, which is a pretty good reticle, if you ask me.

I was happy to hear about Robbie’s success out at the Rocky mountain 3 gun this morning, and even more pleased to find your blog. Perhaps you don’t remember, but I met you back in June at Fogo de Chao with Robbie. I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure to meet you and your wife and I hope to have another opportunity in the future. Great site Kelly! Ill ad a shortcut to my desktop and check back often.

    Sincerely
    MR

Thanks, Mikey. Lucky there was no 3 gun nation shoot off there to screw up.
