Training videos from mi amigos

Kyle Lamb, founder of Viking Tactics (VTAC) has some great training videos that are definitely worth your time.  I did beat Kyle in the Zig Zag drill, but since he can hurt me in no less than 27 interesting ways,  I won’t put it out on the Internet.

Some of these are high round count drills.  I’ve been working on a couple of them with a Nordic Components 10/22 chassis which significantly reduces the cost.  The Highsmith is a really good drill for a Nordic Chassis, the 1-5 a bit less so as the 1-5 is somewhat more about recoil control. The Zig Zig is my favorite and easy to set up.  Note how Kyle “drives” the gun (be it rifle or pistol) from target to target with no wasted motion.  As soon as the shot breaks, the muzzle is on its way to the next target.

Now Kyle has some more indepth training DVDs at http://www.vikingtactics.com.  Buy them.

I love shooting matches with the boys from the Army Marksmanship Unit – a great group of  guys including current wunderkind, Daniel Horner – who constantly beats me — and everyone else for that matter.  In this video, Daniel and SSG Robbie Johnson explain shotgun reloading.  I used to be a primary or strong hand loader but I’ve been working pretty hard to master the support hand load as well.

I understand that you’ll be coming back in March 2010 for Phoenix PD. We can rematch then! I might have to put a comp on that carbine for just a little edge.

I guess I should also note that Kyle did crush me on all of those transition from primary to support side and vice versa drills, like the Highsmith. I think he walks around his house at night constantly transitioning!

Great collection of videos. We have been watching the Guns & Ammo series of videos, but are happy to find some more great videos.
    Thanks for putting these together.
